History & Innkeeper

The Story of Our East Marion Bed and Breakfast

Our house was built in the 1840’s by Captain Leek, in the tiny, tranquil, hamlet of East Marion. The location is perfect as a midway point between the historic, seaport Village of Greenport and the restored landmark Village of Orient. Quintessentials is listed on the Long Island Society for the Preservation of Antiquities as a fine example of a sea captain’s house. Graced with fine architectural details, including a magnificent Widow’s Walk cupola, ornate gingerbread trim, and hand-carved corbels, today, our East Marion bed and breakfast is a meticulously restored manor offering 21st century amenities and comforts.

Sylvia Daley is the innkeeper and spa director of Quintessentials, an East Marion bed and breakfast and spa. She is a personal coach, international image consultant and workshop presenter. Sylvia is happily developing all facets of her quintessential self. She speaks four languages, designs homes and office spaces in her eclectic style, prepares amazing food for her friends and family, and needs no excuse to dance! She is a trained and licensed esthetician, makeup artist, massage therapist, herbalist, color therapist, as well as a former senior corporate business development and financial manager, and United Nations Development Program officer.
